    Gotta ‘Lova’ That Yarn

The Knitted Jumper and Co were at the 2013 Knitting and Stitching show at Ally Pally, London on Saturday and we loved it! All that yarn and fabric in the same place, amazing! It also gave us chance to get hands on with some of our favourite yarns, such as Drops and Rowan, and also to find some new ones, such as Schachenmayr Lova. Yarn Bombing

Love this article in Harpers Bazaar about yarn bombing. The Knitted Jumper was at Warehouse Oxford Street to witness the cute little hats for the model sheep with purpose built holes for their ears! We suggested such a hat for Mr E, but along with woolly pants the idea was vetoed!! We expect to hear a lot more about this new knitted form of graffiti in mainstream media, and you can expect to hear more from us too, as this has very much caught our eye!!

    Gorgeous Drops Mittens

I’ve fallen in love with these AMAZING Nordic mittens using Drops Lima from Garn Studio. They’re knit in the round using four 50g balls of this alpaca and wool blend DK yarn. Having previously fallen in love with Drops Nepal ( Lima’s heavier weight aran sister) I can’t wait to get started on these! I’m hoping they’ll also be a good introduction to knitting in the round and knitting from a chart. And with the pattern being free and the yarn available for the bargain price of £2.00 a ball from Wool Warehouse I don’t have to worry too much about completely messing them up!!
